We are pleased to announce our investment in miecom-Netzservice GmbH, a provider of passive fibre-optic infrastructure with a geographical focus on the Bavarian Swabia region.

The company, based in Binswangen, Bavaria, was founded in 1999 by Tobias Mießl as a systems integrator specialising in the installation of telecommunications and IT systems. In 2005, the first point-to-point microwave link was installed to provide the company’s own broadband coverage. Just four years later, in 2009, miecom laid its first fibre-optic cable. Today, miecom specialises in the planning, installation and operation of passive fibre-optic infrastructure (FTTC/H) as part of subsidised roll-out programmes in rural regions. The company operates approximately 1,800 km of its own fibre-optic networks in the Bavarian Swabia region, serving 50,000 households.

With Adiuva Capital and co-investor Acquarium, miecom is gaining new shareholders with many years’ experience in the fibre-optic market to support the company in completing its ongoing expansion projects and implementing its growth strategy.

Tobias Mießl will remain Managing Director and, in the long term, the main point of contact for clients and partner companies. Jürgen A. Neumann, Managing Director of Acquarium, will support the company during this growth phase as an additional Managing Director.

“We are delighted to have secured two strong investors and partners for our company in Adiuva and Acquarium, who know the market well and will actively support Miecom’s continued growth in Bavarian Swabia,” said Tobias Mießl.

“With miecom-Netzservice GmbH, we are welcoming a company to our portfolio which, under the leadership of Tobias Mießl, has established a strong strategic position as a regional market leader in the field of fibre-optic infrastructure,” said Hauke Lübben, managing partner of Adiuva Capital GmbH.

“I am delighted to be working alongside Tobias Mießl to continue the success story that he and his team have started,” adds Jürgen A. Neumann, managing partner of Acquarium
